My favorite thing to do on Sundays is have a big breakfast (to absorb all of the cocktails still in my belly). Usually this breakfast comes after a long night of partying, but this is not the case for me this this morning. I decided to not partake in any festivities Saturday night so that I can enjoy my day, not hungover, today. Yes, I know, the Heat game was on, there was a UFC fight and a lot of other things going on, but I decided to sit this one out. However, that doesn't mean an oh so yummy breakfast isn't in order.
Now, here's my disclaimer, I live about half a block from Coral Bagels, but I promise you, this has nothing to do with why I think this is the best breakfast place in town. I have tried other local spots and those very popular chains, and I'll tell ya, they have nothing on Coral Bagels, if a home style breakfast is what your in the mood for. When you first walk in its pretty unassuming. The tables and booths need a noticeable face lift or a replacement altogether, but that doesn't stop people from lining up to wait on one table to become available. Folks from the Grove and Coral Gables alike frequent Coral Bagels for their freshly baked bagels, omelets, coffee and potatoes.
Another plus about this place? I can come by wearing a pair of tights, a tank top, flip flops and of course a pair of sunglasses that make me invisible, and not feel like I'm committing a sin by leaving my house on a Sunday looking like a hot mess. Its all about comfort food and feeling like you're eating breakfast right in your own living room. Come check it out. Make sure to tell me what you thought of the place.
